The Losses Among Serbian Army Commanding Officers During Nineteenth Century Wars
Authors:
Milić Milićević
Five wars that Serbia waged during the nineteenth century caused considerable losses among its military commanders. In some cases, those losses were larger than the casualties among the noncommissioned officers and the ordinary soldiers. However, this issue has not been analyzed correctly, because in many cases the time factor (the factor of duration of war) was not considered. Without taking into consideration of this factor one cannot ascertain accuracy regarding the intensity of the conflicts and real casualties among the commanding officers, as well as among the NCOs and ordinary soldiers.
