A fter the April Defeat in 1941 the Yugoslav Royal Government emigrated, but tried to keep up with the situation in the country by collecting information on the occupation conditions. It took position regarding the situation in the occupied Yugoslavia despite contradictory news. Following the news on the uprising action, the Government supported Draža Mihailović by promoting him to the higher rank of Brigadier General in December 1941. In the following period this relation was strengthened by appointing him as a minister and promoting him to the higher ranks of Division General and Army General. He was also appointed as the Head of the Supreme Command, which was brought back to the country. This has cemented the destiny relation between the Yugoslav Royal Government and General Mihailović.
